Structural engineering outsourcing for steel projects
Extra capacity for engineering firms at peak workload: analysis models, load combinations, member checks and calculation reports for steel structures, delivered as native files your engineers can open, review and take over.
Example situation · Engineering firms
← All situationsA structural engineering firm has three steel warehouse extensions due in the same month, and one engineer is on leave. The senior engineer will review and sign everything, but needs someone to build the models, run the checks and produce the reports.
An example situation. The workflow and the projects linked below are real.- Architectural drawings or the IFC model
- Your design basis: codes, National Annex, load assumptions, deflection limits
- The report structure you expect, or an example of one of yours
- Who reviews and signs on your side
- Analysis model files, each member traced back to the drawing element it came from
- Load cases and 100+ combinations generated from your design basis
- A stability check that runs before any result is reported
- Member checks, deflections, drift and modal results
- A calculation report (PDF) for your engineer to review and sign
- Connection checks for the governing joints, if needed
How it goes
Four steps, all by e-mail.
Agree the design basis
Codes, annex, load assumptions and report layout are written down first, as a one-page basis your engineer approves.
Model and check
The model is built from your drawings, loads are generated from the basis, and the analysis stops if the model is unstable.
Review
Your engineer reviews the native model and the report, not only a PDF. Questions and changes go back into the model.
Handover
All files are yours. Your team can continue in the same model.
Experience
Good to know
- Your engineer remains the engineer of record. I prepare; they review, decide and sign.
- The native files come from industry-standard analysis software. Tell me what your office uses, and before starting you get a confirmation that the files will open on your side.
- Codes. Eurocode, AISC 360 or the code your project requires. Tell me which at the start.
- Sign-off. Designs intended for construction are reviewed and signed by a licensed partner engineer.
- Scope and price. Every request gets a written scope and price before any work starts. No job is too small.

FAQ
Questions
Can you follow our report template?
The report engine has its own layout. Section order, title page and wording can be adapted; send an example and you get a clear answer on what can match exactly.
How do we check your work?
Every member in the analysis model maps back to the drawing element it came from, applied loads are compared with the support reactions, and the report shows these checks so your engineer doesn't have to rebuild them.
Is our project data kept confidential?
Project files are used only for your project. Nothing appears on this site without your written approval, and then only anonymised.
Is this your situation?
Send what you have and a few lines about what you need. The e-mail opens with a short checklist so nothing important is missed.
